Members of our local chapter of the Optimist Club generously sponsored our Summer Fun Initiative to ensure the children in our shelter had a summer full of treats and activities. The summer break has come to an end, and we can safely say the children at the First Step shelter have had a summer filled with outings, entertainment, delicious treats, indoor and outdoor fun, and special parties just for them. Our clients, staff, board members, and volunteers are humbled by the kindness shown by the Optimist Club of Wichita Falls and want them to know their donation brought many smiles to lots of little faces!
Check out the pictures below to see what kind of fun our kiddos got into this summer.

Ice Cream Sundae Party with Extra Sprinkles!A Day of Games, Skating, Go Karts, Floaty Boats, and..you guessed it, Pizza!
This was a special summer, and the kids had so much fun.
Through no fault of their own, children of domestic violence come to our shelter from challenging circumstances, are suddenly displaced from their homes, and are often consumed with adult worries. Thanks to the Optimist Club of Wichita Falls, we were able to make this time of transition as normal and as uplifting as possible. Thank you for the Summer Fun!
